The over arching idea of this blog is to chronical the training and journey I am undertaking to ride the coast to coat in a day. This ride in itself is quite demanding, 150 miles from Seascale to Whitby in a day.
Why? I hear you ask.
Well when I first heard about the ride from a friend at work I just had to take a look. It actually gave me goose bumps and made me laugh. I just wanted to sign up for it straight away! The wife made me see sense in not doing this at the time and reminded me that I only have so much money.
Anyway after starting this year with pneumonia and then pleuracy I thought now is a good base line to start from and it can only all be uphill from here. In more ways than one I might add! So I signed up and I am on my way!
I have cycled less than 20 miles so far this year (in January) and have only just this week started back on using my turbo trainer (great Christmas present).
I will be putting in some real mileage over the coming months and hope to discribe what it is like to make the journey.
I will be taking part in the Wiggle Cheshire Cat 100 miles for one.
All this is done on a bike that I built myself from part s I bought off eBay using a frame that is about 20 years old. It's not a light bike but I built it and I enjoy riding it.
